Shout out to Access Arts

As a firm, there’s nothing we like more than giving back where we can.

When Jason and I joined forces to create Hughes & Lewis Legal in 2018, a common value we shared was to support projects or causes in need.

For the past few years, one of the causes we’ve been supporting is Access Arts which is a Queensland organisation for performing and visual artists working with disability or disadvantage.

For nearly 40 years, they have created skill development and career opportunities for their artists and have advocated for all arts activity to be accessible to everyone.

If you want to experience the visual arts aspect of Access Arts you can visit Dancing Colours exhibition which is on at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Spring Hill until 16 September 2022.

The exhibition shines a light on talented Queensland artists and starts a conversation about the need for more recognition for artists with disability.

As an added bonus of supporting a great cause, we’ve also been able to acquire art for the Huey Lewis office – Neon Congested by Dion Halse will be a nice addition to our workspace.

It really is a win, win!
